MBA Marketing Intern | Venture Capital | Paid Internship
Albatross Ventures is now seeking an MBA intern to support our marketing and business efforts.
Venture capital meets marketing and brand strategy, meets entrepreneurship
Will work on both portfolio companies and new business ventures
2.5 month contract - June 3, 2019 to August 2, 2019 preferred
Reporting to the Operating Partner, the Marketing Intern will work closely with various portfolio companies under the Albatross Ventures umbrella, across a myriad of industries including healthcare, consumer brands and technology. This person will assist the Operating Partner in the launch and execution of various new business ventures. Primary tasks include: conducting market and competitive research, creating marketing and sales materials and strategies, briefing and managing creative and third party teams, strategy development (i.e., branding, marketing, digital, social, creative), and gathering and analyzing partner data (i.e., digital, social).
Essential Job Functions
Assist in defining or redefining brand strategy for various portfolio companies and/or new ventures, as well as assist in defining customer segmentation and persona development to align with strategy
Conduct research, inclusive of competitive research, market research, digital and social analysis, brand analysis, new product development research, new product launch strategies + more, presenting actionable findings to larger team(s)
Assist portfolio companies and Operating Partner in project management, and overall project support where needed (ex: sales strategy, presentation development, marketing materials)
Provide updates and manage third party partners such as creative teams, contractors, to assist in various projects as needed
Own a project of Intern’s choosing for 5% of time, to present new product pitch idea to Operating and Managing Partners before the completion of the internship
Requirements and Qualifications for Position
MBA student at an accredited university
A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or a related field required; currently enrolled in a full-time MBA program at the time of application
3+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, or branding at a relevant agency or client side role preferred
Entrepreneurial drive and a passion for creating great brands
Ability to analyze data and provide strong strategic analysis and recommendations
Must be resourceful, high energy, positive and carry an intense curiosity and desire to learn
Ability to aid in providing exceptional service to portfolio companies and internal teams
Experience in both B2C and B2B marketing a plus
Experience with social platforms (native, publishing and listening tools) Google Analytics, Google Ads, SEO and SEM tools, Adobe Creative Suite, a plus
